Emily Williams (Emmy) is the loving and beautiful daughter to Dwight and Cristen Williams. She was born July 10th, 2006 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Emily was diagnosed on November 26th, 2008 with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 2 yrs. Because of her young diagnosis, the lifestyle of a diabetic is all she knows. The daily struggles that she (and her parents) faces have become routine but still they are relentless. Emmy and her family are asking for your help to spread the word about what T1 is, what are the symptoms, what are the struggles and how people can help find a cure. Some of you know that insulin is not a cure, some of you don’t.
Our website will be a work in progress for the next couple of weeks, but please follow our blog to learn more about Emmy, type 1 diabetes, and the efforts we take to support JDRF. Also, please share this with your family and friends and don’t forget to “like” our facebook page Emmy’s Crew.
A message to our family and friends: We would like to thank everyone out there that has shown up for everything from dodge ball tournaments, TV interviews, the Walk To Cure, just to raise funds to help find a cure for our daughter. Thank you is all that we have to offer but we owe you so much more than that!! We are forever grateful for your efforts and support. Without you, there would be no Emmys Crew. Together, with your support of this incredible organization, we will find a cure!!
All our love,
